The Laboratory is a research facility in the College of Engineering at the University of Kentucky devoted to the area of computer networking. The Laboratory is comprised of faculty and researchers from the Department of Computer Science, the Department of Electrical Engineering, UK Communications and Networking Systems, and also corporate sponsors and collaborators.
The goal of the Laboratory for Advanced Networking is to provide leadership in the rapidly changing field of computer networks. In particular, the Lab is actively engaged in both forward-looking research projects, designing the networks of tomorrow, and applied research projects that tackle problems facing current network designers. The Lab also facilitates interaction and collaboration with our colleagues in the industry, working together as we develop and explore the highly networked world that will define the next millennium. This leadership also manifests itself in other important ways including the expertise to provide direction and support for the UK campus/commonwealth and a wider range of course offerings for UK students who will be the hi-tech workforce of the 21st century.
